Five individuals have been placed in custody for four weeks in connection with a significant drug case.

A constitutional hearing took place in the Faroese court earlier this morning.

The police conducted an operation in Bakka yesterday, resulting in the seizure of approximately 27 kilograms of illegal substances that were smuggled into the Faroe Islands via a sailing boat.

Among those detained are two women, one from Iceland and the other from Denmark, as well as two Danish men and a Faroese man. The authorities are investigating the extent of the operation and the origins of the drugs found.

Bjarni Árting Rubeksen captured images of the police action in Bakka, highlighting the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in the region.

Further details are expected as the investigation unfolds and officials continue to assess the ramifications of this significant drug bust.
