Weather forecasts predict strong winds and rain across Iceland

Iceland

Today, weather forecasts indicate strong southerly winds with drizzling rain or light showers across the region. Significant rainfall is expected in Snæfellsnes, Breiðafjörður, and the Westfjords, while East Iceland will be spared, experiencing lighter winds and potentially reaching temperatures of up to 20 degrees Celsius.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, sustained strong southerly winds are expected. Wet weather will continue in the western parts of the country, leading to increased rainfall in southern areas. In contrast, there will be drier periods in the northeast, where temperatures may also rise to about 20 degrees Celsius under sunny spells.

The forecast suggests that warm and humid air will move into the country from the south, influenced by a low-pressure system in the Greenland Sea and a high-pressure area over Britain.
