Severe thunderstorms expected in southern and western Finland with urban flooding risk
Severe thunderstorms are expected to hit southern and western Finland today, with the risk of urban flooding notably high, warns the Finnish Meteorological Institute. Tomorrow, the storms will move to the eastern part of the country, while Sunday will see thunderstorms affecting the Ostrobothnia region.
The meteorologist on duty highlighted that the weather is unusually warm and humid for this time of year, with the possibility of heatwave conditions persisting. Today, temperatures in western Finland could reach heatwave levels, and tomorrow, a similar situation is expected in North Karelia.
