Halla Tómasdóttir meets Emmanuel Macron at Elysée Palace in Paris for Paralympic Games opening

Halla Tómasdóttir, President of Iceland, met with French President Emmanuel Macron at a reception in the Elysée Palace in Paris yesterday. Halla and her husband, Björn Skúlason, attended the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, which commenced on the same day.

During their meeting, Halla and Macron posed for a photo alongside their spouses, with significant attendees including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Halla is in Paris to participate in the events surrounding the Paralympic Games.

The Paralympics aim to celebrate disability sports and promote inclusivity and diversity in athletics, featuring athletes from various nations competing in numerous disciplines. The opening of this year’s games marks the beginning of a week-long series of events highlighting the talents and resilience of athletes with disabilities.
