Thursday 29th 2024 on 10:08 in
Faroe Islands

The matter of Faroese membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) is set to be taken to a court of arbitration. This development was revealed during a press conference with the three government officials from the royal union that took place this week.

A special committee, established under Article 6 of the Home Rule Act, will make a decision in this case. This marks the first time this legal provision has been utilized.

What does this committee entail, what are the contentious issues at hand, and when can a conclusion be expected?

A conversation with lawyer Christian Andreasen will provide insights into these questions.

Additionally, the significance of Faroese membership in the WTO will also be discussed. Niels Winther, director of the Chamber of Commerce, will be present in the radio studio.

The program is set to air at 10 AM.
