Helsinki retains top travel destination status in Finland for 2023

Helsinki remains the leading travel destination in Finland, according to a study on tourism revenue and employment impacts for 2023. The following cities in terms of tourism income are Tampere, Turku, Vantaa, and Jyväskylä.

Last year, Helsinki generated an impressive direct tourism revenue of approximately 1.5 billion euros. This figure represents a remarkable 25% increase compared to the previous year. This growth is noteworthy, particularly considering that the crucial outbound market for Helsinki tourism, Russia, has been entirely absent.

The study was conducted by Visitory Oy, a firm specializing in tourism research, and included participation from a total of 40 different tourism regions.
