The Kuhmoisten railway museum has been the target of multiple crimes, with the police providing further information on Thursday morning. The most recent incident occurred on Wednesday when officers responded to an alert regarding suspicious activity involving a vehicle at the museum, where long-barreled firearms were reportedly being loaded. During the situation, the museum’s owner was assaulted, and as the suspects fled, they collided with a fire truck on the scene.

The police later arrested two men, born in 1974 and 1979, who were found in the vehicle identified near Kangasala. The car was reported stolen from the East Uusimaa police jurisdiction, and seven long-barreled firearms—specifically black powder guns that do not require a permit—were discovered inside. The case is under investigation for robbery, assault, aggravated assault, and driving under the influence.

In the latest theft from the museum, which occurred in early July, 34 firearms were stolen, with only one recovered so far. A man, a 49-year-old with a criminal record and previous prison sentences, has been detained by the Pirkanmaa District Court on probable cause related to this incident. He has confessed to the crime.

The Kuhmoisten railway museum showcases various military and hunting weapons. The museum’s owner has not yet commented on the security measures in place. Further updates on the situation will follow soon.
