Faroe Islands

Today, the Parliament will review a comprehensive plan addressing domestic violence in relationships and intimate partnerships for the years 2023 to 2028.

Sirið Stenberg, the Minister of Social Affairs, will present the report. A main debate on the plan is scheduled for Tuesday.

The comprehensive plan is not entirely new, as the Minister received it on August 28 of last year.

The plan features 20 initiatives that build on experiences from previous efforts in the field, insights from the Women’s House, as well as practices from international collaborations addressing violence.

The new plan was developed by four government ministers, a political advisory group, and civil servants.

Additionally, the Parliament will discuss a proposal today regarding the takeover of the Infrastructure Fund. The session is set for 1 PM.

Prior to today’s parliamentary meeting, the Social Affairs Committee will convene. The committee will receive an update regarding an upcoming trip to Greenland planned for September.
