Sands Municipality faces integration challenges, survey reveals

Sands Municipality is perceived as poorly integrated, at least according to the residents themselves.

In a recent survey conducted by Kringvarpið and Lóðir, Sands Municipality lagged significantly behind other larger municipalities regarding cohesion among its residents.

Mayor Heri Sverrason has responded to the findings, stating that the people of Sand have diverse opinions on various matters, and such various viewpoints should be respected. He added that while the integration appears to be reasonable, there is always room for improvement. The municipality plans to utilize the survey results to address areas that need enhancement.

In total, 91 residents from Sands Municipality participated in the survey.
