Prime Pet Premium recalls dog food products in Finland over safety concerns

Prime Pet Premium, the manufacturer of Hau Hau Champion dog food products, has initiated a voluntary recall of its light chew rolls due to safety concerns. The company is also withdrawing other bone products from the same supplier and production batch, even though there are currently no suspicions of defects for those items.

The recall was announced in a statement released on Tuesday afternoon. Concerns had previously been raised regarding a potential product defect in the light chew rolls. The specific product under recall is the Hau-Hau light roll, which has an EAN code of 6430076899910, a best-before date of April 16, 2027, and a package weight of 500 grams. It is advised that these rolls should not be fed to dogs. The company has submitted the products for laboratory testing to the Finnish Food Authority, with results expected in 2-3 weeks.

Consumers are instructed to dispose of the affected products with mixed waste or return them to the place of purchase. In addition to the 500-gram light roll packages, as a precautionary measure, the company is also voluntarily recalling the following products:
