Tragedy strikes as Karla Dana found drowned near capsized Naddodd in Tvøroyri

Yesterday evening, around 6:30 PM, Karla Dana’s sister contacted me, concerned about an alarm that had gone off. A helicopter was dispatched to Naddodd, and at that point, there was no cause for alarm.

Shortly after, we received news that Naddodd had capsized, according to Bergur Jacobsen, head of the Naddodd Association.

Karla Dana was found drowned this morning, just a few hundred meters from the capsized Naddodd. “We knew these individuals very well, and it’s a very sad situation,” Jacobsen remarked.

Since early morning, a large gathering has assembled at the Naddodd boathouse in Tvøroyri, as the flag flies at half-mast in respect.

Karla, mentioned by Bergur Jacobsen, was the only person who did not survive the incident. In her twenties, she was originally from Mexico but had been living in Orlando, Florida, USA.
