Body of woman from Mexico discovered near Naddoddur off Norwegian coast

A woman’s body has been discovered after she went missing following an incident involving the vessel Naddoddur near the Norwegian coast yesterday afternoon, according to Norwegian police.

The deceased is a woman in her 20s from Mexico, residing in Orlando, Florida, USA. Her remains were found a few hundred meters from the Naddoddur.

Vincent Roos from JRCC Stavanger confirmed the discovery of the woman.

There were six individuals aboard the Naddoddur at the time of the incident, with the other five safely rescued. The survivors include four people from Switzerland and a Faroese man, Livar Nysted from Hvannasund, who managed to contact his family last night to assure them he was safe.

The Naddoddur departed from the boat club in Tvøroyri on Saturday afternoon, after multiple delays due to weather conditions.
