Collaboration between staff and management at Agedrup School in Odense Municipality is reportedly facing significant challenges, as highlighted in a recent study conducted by Deloitte. The investigation was commissioned by the Children and Youth Committee following concerns raised by approximately 100 parents about incidents of inappropriate behavior among students.

Deloitte’s assessment included surveys and interviews to gather insights into the school environment. While staff members believe they involve management when necessary, over half of the employees do not feel secure in engaging school leadership. Many staff reportedly find it difficult to maintain a constructive dialogue with management regarding challenges and feel that leadership lacks trust in their professional judgment during critical situations.

The report notes that staff members have expressed concerns over the tone of communication, describing it as harsh and direct. Additionally, there are concerns that conversations often occur in inappropriate settings, such as during student interactions where disciplinary actions are taking place.

In contrast, school management disagrees with the staff’s perspective but emphasizes that feedback and corrections are provided when necessary, particularly if staff behavior contradicts the school’s educational values.
