A Hollywood film shot in the Tampere region last autumn is set to premiere next month. Previously known as “Svalta,” the film has been rebranded as “Get Away.” Its debut will take place at the Fantastic Fest film festival in the United States in September.

“Get Away” tells the story of a family vacationing on a Swedish island who learns of a serial killer on the loose. Their vacation is further complicated by the hostile local residents. The film has been described as a “bloody comedy.”

According to a statement from the city of Tampere, filming locations included Tammela Market Square, Hiedanranta’s Möljä pier in Lielahti, the scenic backdrop of St. Olav Church in Tyrvää, and the historic Wanha Vihula villa in Kangasala. The film has received support from the city of Tampere and Film Tampere’s audiovisual production incentives.

“Get Away” has also gained recognition in the U.S. entertainment publication Variety. The film stars Aisling Bea, known from the TV series “This Way Up,” alongside Nick Frost, famous for his role in “Shaun of the Dead.”
