Rescue operation underway after ice cave collapse at Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland

A rescue operation is currently underway following the collapse of an ice cave at the Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland on Sunday. One tourist has been confirmed dead, and another is seriously injured, while two individuals are still reported missing.

According to the police chief Sveinn Kristján Rúnarsson, “The rescue efforts are being conducted more or less by hand.”

In related news, discussions regarding a ceasefire in Gaza continue, although mediatory meetings over the weekend did not yield any results. Conversations are expected to progress at “lower levels” in the coming days, according to a U.S. government source.

In Ukraine, the military has reported that air defense systems in the Kyiv region were activated to thwart a Russian drone attack on the night of Monday.
