Woman sentenced to seven months in prison for Ozempic fraud in Hvidovre

A 56-year-old woman from Hvidovre has been sentenced to seven months in prison for committing fraud involving the diabetes medication Ozempic, according to the Glostrup court. Of the seven months, two are mandatory imprisonment, while the remaining five months are conditional. Additionally, she is required to repay 317,971 Danish kroner to the Capital Region and cover the legal costs of the case.

The woman was accused of unlawfully receiving over 300,000 kroner in public subsidies for Ozempic in 2023 and illegally selling the medication as a weight-loss drug.
