A fire has broken out in two silos at Vejle Harbor. Specifically, there has been a smoke gas explosion in one of the silos, which has caused flames to spread to another. Emergency services are on-site and actively engaged in firefighting efforts. Thomas Dietz, the chief of Vejle Fire Department, stated that they do not expect any further smoke gas explosions.

“We are not in a situation where we anticipate anything more occurring,” he assured. There is currently no significant threat to public safety. Staff in the affected building were quickly alerted and evacuated, according to Dietz.

“There is no danger to others, and there is no hazardous smoke or other conditions that would necessitate the evacuation of a larger area at this time,” he added. A thermal imaging drone from the local firefighting unit is being used to pinpoint the exact location of the blaze.

While the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Dietz confirmed that there was an active fire and that a smoke gas explosion had occurred. He noted that emergency services are now scaling back their operations as there is no risk of additional smoke gas explosions.
