On Wednesday, PostNord’s internal security system detected an IT incident. As an initial response, PostNord TPL decided to isolate the IT environments in two major warehouse facilities located in Jönköping and Ljungby from the outside world. Since then, the scope of the incident has expanded.

PostNord confirmed that there is an ongoing IT incident affecting four units within PostNord TPL, a subsidiary of the PostNord Group. The company is currently investigating the situation with the help of external partners.

“We are working diligently to determine the causes behind this incident. Filing a police report is certainly an option if we find evidence suggesting that the disruption results from criminal activities,” said a company representative.

PostNord TPL is a leading provider of warehousing and postal services for e-commerce companies. As of Thursday afternoon, PostNord was unable to specify how the IT incident is impacting e-commerce businesses and their customers. “There will undoubtedly be consequences, but we cannot yet provide exact details. We are working to resolve this matter,” the representative added.

The incident underscores the ongoing challenges in IT security faced by logistics companies in the digital age.
