Faroese interest in mackerel fishing in Norwegian waters remains minimal

Interest among Faroese fishing vessels to catch mackerel in Norwegian waters is minimal, if not nonexistent.

The first Faroese ship was on its way to Norwegian waters to fish for mackerel but ultimately never made it there.

The Arctic Voyager departed from Fuglafjørður on Sunday evening.

Currently, it is the only Faroese vessel that has requested permission to enter Norwegian waters for mackerel fishing.

The Arctic Voyager is now en route back to the Faroe Islands.

Fishing vessels are not encountering significant mackerel in Faroese territorial waters or in international waters at this time.
