Investment subsidies increasingly benefit profitable farms in Finland

Investment subsidies for agriculture are being granted to an increasingly smaller group of farms that are making more frequent and larger investments. The farms that are securing these investments are already profitable, unlike the average farm. Often, the profitability of these investing farms improves even further.

This information comes from an audit conducted by the Government Institute for Economic Research (VTV), which assessed the effectiveness of agricultural investment subsidies. The concentration of agriculture is greater than statistics suggest, and according to the audit, this concentration is expected to continue in the future.
