The estimated cost for constructing a new healthcare center lies between 50 and 60 million Danish kroner. In contrast, the solution of relocating to the former convent building, known as Kerit, is significantly less expensive, costing less than half of that amount, according to Árni Gregersen, the chairman of the board for the healthcare facility.

In an interview, Gregersen elaborated on the financial implications of the planned relocation. He emphasized that moving to the existing structure would not only save costs but also provide immediate access to essential services needed for the community.

The board is optimistic about this decision, which aims to efficiently utilize existing resources while maintaining high-quality healthcare provisions. The transition to the Kerit building is seen as a sustainable option that will allow for better allocation of funds, ultimately benefiting patient care and operational capabilities.

As discussions continue regarding the future of healthcare in this region, the focus remains on balancing fiscal responsibility with the delivery of effective medical services. Going forward, the administration will further explore this option to ensure it meets the needs of the population without overextending the budget.
