New deep-sea fishing vessel Finnur Fríði arrives in Faroe Islands after completion in Denmark
The new deep-sea fishing vessel belonging to Varðin in Gøtu is now complete and is expected to arrive in the Faroe Islands over the weekend.
According to Portal.fo, the new ship, named Finnur Fríði, was built at Karstensens Shipyard in Skagen, Denmark.
Although there has been some delay in its construction, the final components have now been installed, and the vessel is anticipated to reach the Faroe Islands either on Saturday or Sunday.
The cost of the new Finnur Fríði is approximately 350 million kroner.
With the new ship ready for operation, Varðin in Gøtu intended to sell the old Finn Fríði. However, in the spring, the company received a lucrative offer for the vessel now known as Tróndur í Gøtu, which was subsequently sold to Norway for 200 million kroner.
As a result, the old Finnur Fríði has been renamed.
