Seventeen candidates apply for rector and CEO position at Tampere University of Applied Sciences in Finland

Seventeen candidates have applied for the position of rector and CEO at Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK). Currently, 14 remain in the selection process, as three applicants have withdrawn. The candidates include Mika Hannula, Salla Huttunen, Mikko Ketovuori, Janne Kolho, Silja Kostia, Jari Multisilta, Simo Mustila, Jori Reijula, Marja Sutela, Viljo Varho, and Kirsi Viskari.

Among the applicants are several individuals currently serving as rectors. Notably, Jari Multisilta is the rector of SAMK, Mika Hannula is the vice-rector at the University of Turku, Marja Sutela serves as vice-rector at Tampere University, and Salla Huttunen is the vice-rector at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. Additionally, Kirsi Viskari is a director at Tredu, a vocational school in the Tampere region, while Mikko Ketovuori has prior experience working at the University of Turku. Silja Kostia is associated with TAMK, working as a senior lecturer at the Applied Research Center.

Three candidates have requested that their names not be made public due to their current positions. The previous rector of TAMK, Tapio Kujala, was dismissed from his role in the spring. Further updates on the selection process will be provided.
