Court hearing begins in Faroese Court for man accused of assaulting woman in Sandá

A court hearing is set to begin at noon in the Faroese Court regarding the detention of a man accused of assaulting a woman in Sandá on April 28.
The prosecution has requested that his detention be extended for an additional four weeks. However, the detainee is seeking release.
Previously, he accepted a four-week extension of his detention without a court hearing. However, he later appealed the Faroese Court’s ruling to the Eastern High Court, which upheld the original decision.
The man has been in custody since April 28 and maintains his innocence.
