Heikki Hursti sentenced to 45 days conditional imprisonment for aggravated drunk driving in Vantaa
The Eastern Uusimaa District Court has sentenced Heikki Hursti to 45 days of conditional imprisonment and 25 day fines for aggravated drunk driving. The fines result in a total payment of over €1,100 for Hursti. According to the ruling, Hursti committed aggravated drunk driving on April 9 in Vantaa, on Korsontie, with a blood alcohol level of 0.66 milligrams per liter of exhaled air. The court deemed that his actions posed a danger to public safety. Hursti admitted to the offense, and the court handled the case through written proceedings. In a comment to Yle in June, Hursti acknowledged the consequences of his foolish actions.
Hursti has also faced charges of a health offense, with the case being heard in the Helsinki District Court on August 13. However, the court has yet to announce a verdict on that matter. Hursti denies the charges related to the health offense. His organization, Apu ry, provides food assistance to low-income individuals in Helsinki. He currently serves as the deputy director of the association.
