Travelers increase at Vagar Airport in the Faroe Islands
The number of travelers passing through Vagar Airport has increased by 2.3% as of August 1 this year compared to the same date last year, reaching a total of 264,121 passengers.
In July alone, the influx of tourists rose significantly, with a 6.3% increase compared to July of the previous year.
However, cargo traffic has seen a decline, with a notable 13.9% drop in freight coming in by air by August 1 compared to last year.
On the other hand, the statistics reveal that FarCargo, a freight airline operating for Bakkafrost among other clients, has started significant operations at Vagar Airport. As a result, cargo shipments have surged dramatically, registering an increase of 650.3% compared to the same period last year.
