Landskassin sells two buildings in Klaksvík as Finance Minister addresses public property sales

Landskassin has sold two buildings this year, located at Oman Reyðhús 4 and 6 in Klaksvík, each measuring 168 square meters.

The Minister of Finance has not disclosed the sale price of these properties. He stated that no additional public buildings will be sold this year.

Dennis Holm, the Minister of Finance, responded to a question from MP Hanna Jensen regarding the status of public building sales. Landsverk oversees the 200 buildings owned by the country, which together cover a total area of 260,000 square meters. Additionally, the government leases several other buildings.

Hanna Jensen pointed out that in the budget report for 2024, the Finance Committee noted an increase in the revenue allocation by six million krónur for selling buildings deemed unnecessary for ownership. The revenue allocation for this year stands at nine million krónur.
