Man held in custody in Seinäjoki shooting case

A man connected to the shooting incident at a restaurant in Seinäjoki has been ordered to be held in custody today by the South Ostrobothnia District Court. This marks the fourth suspect detained in relation to the case. The police had issued a wanted notice for the man at the beginning of August, and he voluntarily reported to the police earlier this week.

The man is being held on probable cause and is suspected of attempted manslaughter, causing danger, and firearm offenses. The violent altercation that escalated into the shooting occurred on July 27 at the Härmän Häjy restaurant, resulting in injuries to five individuals, three of whom sustained serious injuries. Among the injured was a security guard at the restaurant.

The other three suspects in this case are aged 31, 32, and 46. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, focusing on charges of attempted manslaughter, firearms offenses, and endangerment.
