Students commence autumn semester at Sports College in Vágur, Suðuroy

Monday marked the first day of the autumn semester at the Sports College in Suðuroy, with a notable turnout in Vágur. According to Suðurrás, a large crowd of students and vehicles gathered at the college’s housing facilities.

A total of 48 students commenced their studies yesterday, engaging in activities both in the vicinity of the Sports College in Vágur and across the country, including an international trip.

As is customary, the semester began with an introductory session where students had the opportunity to get to know each other.

The Sports College in Suðuroy enjoys a strong reputation, evident from the enrollment numbers this fall and for the upcoming spring semester.

The Sports College in Suðuroy is a folk high school located in Vágur, aimed at providing youth with knowledge, skills, and work practices that support individual development. The college is structured as part of the University of Suðuroy and focuses on fostering personal growth in relation to the subjects taught, as well as the role of each individual within a community and society.

The college is designed for young individuals who have completed primary school, specifically those in the 10th grade and older.
