Niels Jørgen Nielsen appointed operations manager for Strandfaraskip Landsins

Niels Jørgen Nielsen has been appointed as the operations manager for Strandfaraskip Landsins.

Nielsen became a ship captain in 1989 and subsequently spent 12 years as a mate and ship inspector with A.P. Møller. From 2013 to 2019, he served as chief mate and relief captain on the ferry Smyrli. He also held the position of mate on the vessel Norrön.

In addition to his roles in maritime operations, Nielsen was involved with the Ship Inspection Agency, now known as the Maritime Administration, for four years. Furthermore, he has contributed to maritime education as a judge for the Driving License Authority and as an instructor at both the Business School and the Fire Academy for many years.
