Eighty-eight students began their journey in the new secondary department at Sankta Frans School in Tórshavn today, marking the inaugural year for this program.

“We have excellent facilities. The environment is inviting, and we have bright, well-equipped classrooms,” stated Aslaug Olsen, the principal.

Olsen is also pleased that Sankta Frans School can now offer a comprehensive education from grades 1 through 9. Previously, students had to seek other options after completing grade 7, but with the introduction of the new secondary department, this is no longer necessary.

The principal anticipates that this development will elevate the academic standard of the school.

“We have hired more teachers, which has expanded our professional capacity. Additionally, we will now be organizing final assessments for grade 9, an initiative we have not undertaken before at Sankta Frans School.”
