BCC-Suomi constructing activity center Alasen Helmi in Kytölä, Lahti

A religious association is constructing a sizable activity center in Kytölä, Lahti. The center, named Alasen Helmi, will cover an area of 1,400 square meters and is intended for hosting parties, gatherings, and events. The building, located near the shores of Lake Alasenjärvi, is expected to be completed within the next year.

BCC-Suomi ry, the organization behind the project, anticipates that a wide range of clients will utilize the facilities. The association also plans to use the space for its activities, including work with children and youth. At this stage, the organization has chosen not to disclose the construction costs.

BCC is an English abbreviation for Brunstad Christian Church, which was established in Norway in the early 20th century. BCC-Suomi also operates a gathering place in Kirkkonummi. In November 2023, Yle’s MOT reported on the church’s financial arrangements. The church is also known as Smith’s Friends, named after its founder, Oscar Johan Smith.
