Driver runs over two individuals in Nurmijärvi, Finland

Last Saturday in Nurmijärvi, a driver ran over two individuals, according to the Eastern Uusimaa Police. The incident occurred near the intersection of Punamullantie and Keskustie at a parking area around 6:18 PM. The suspect was driving a black station wagon.

The two victims sustained injuries that required hospitalization. Markku Lylykangas, the lead investigator from the Eastern Uusimaa Police, informed Yle that the investigation is still in its early stages. He did not comment on whether the driver fled the scene or if the incident is suspected to be intentional.

Lylykangas mentioned that a preliminary charge has been assigned to the case, but he did not disclose what it is, citing that the circumstances surrounding the events are still under investigation.

“We are working to gather eyewitness accounts to help clarify the sequence of events for us,” Lylykangas stated.
