A murder charge has been filed in connection with a homicide that occurred in Pispala, Tampere, on Wednesday, as confirmed by regional prosecutor Eevi Laitinen. The case is set to be addressed in the Pirkanmaa District Court in two weeks.

The police discovered the body of a 25-year-old victim in an apartment located along Pispalan valtatie during an emergency response last October. The homicide is believed to have taken place at Alfakuntoutus, a supported housing unit intended for long-term homeless individuals, primarily focusing on mental health rehabilitation. The investigation has classified the incident as a murder due to its brutal nature.

The victim’s 30-year-old boyfriend was apprehended at the scene. Earlier, police informed that the killing stemmed from a dispute related to their relationship. Information from social media suggests that the victim and the suspect were engaged at the time.

The suspect has a prior criminal record. The Pirkanmaa District Court has previously sentenced him for various offenses, including assault, drug-related crimes, multiple thefts, causing danger, and two counts of petty fraud.
