In Tampere, a murder charge has been filed in connection with a homicide that took place in Pispala on Wednesday, confirmed by district prosecutor Eevi Laitinen. The case will be heard at the Pirkanmaa District Court in two weeks.

Last October, police discovered the body of a 25-year-old victim in an apartment on Pispalan Valtatie during an emergency response call. The homicide is believed to have occurred at the Alfakuntoutus supportive housing unit, which is designated for long-term homeless individuals, primarily focusing on those recovering from mental health issues. Given the brutal nature of the crime, it has been investigated as a murder.

The victim’s 30-year-old boyfriend was arrested at the scene. Police previously indicated to Yle that the homicide stemmed from a domestic dispute escalating in severity. Social media reports suggest that the victim and the suspect were engaged.

The suspect has a prior criminal record. The Pirkanmaa District Court has previously convicted him of multiple offenses, including assault, drug-related crimes, theft, and causing danger, as well as two counts of minor fraud.
