740 children start first grade in public schools in Faroe Islands

Today, 740 children are starting first grade in public schools, with 377 girls and 363 boys.

Additionally, 298 children will enter preschool.

According to preliminary figures from the Ministry of Education, approximately 7,200 children are expected to attend public schools this academic year.

There are 231 children registered for special classes, with nine attending the Lopfjølini school at Fløtum.

Furthermore, 61 children will be enrolled at the school on Trøðni, while 170 children will attend three private schools.
