Police investigate threatening email sent to multiple companies in Helsinki
The Helsinki police received reports today of a threatening email that was sent to multiple companies. The threat claimed that explosives had been installed within a company’s premises. The notification came from the cybersecurity firm F-Secure, which had received the threat at its office located in the western port area of the city.
Police officers responded by visiting the company’s facilities. Upon investigation, they found no security threat, and authorities believe the threat was false. The sender had disseminated the same email message to approximately twenty other companies. The police are currently working to identify the sender of the email.
Authorities remind the public that the majority of threats are found to be unfounded. All are investigated as illegal threats.
