This morning, emergency services from Nordjyllands Beredskab are heavily deployed in the central area of Aalborg, where the roof of the swimming pool on Samsøgade is ablaze. Local police have also arrived at the scene. Authorities are urging residents in the vicinity to stay indoors and secure all doors, windows, and ventilation systems due to potentially harmful smoke.

“There is significant smoke development. We are currently working to assess the situation and ensure the safety of people in the area,” stated the police.

In a press release, Nordjyllands Politi confirmed that there are no individuals inside the swimming pool, meaning no one is in immediate danger.

“We are focused on securing the area and implementing roadblocks, which will affect traffic on Sønderbro and Østre Allé,” said Søren Pejtersen, Deputy Police Inspector and leader of the police command station managing the response to the fire.

Nordjyllands Beredskab has called for assistance from the station in Nibe, while the station in Brønderslev remains on standby for any further developments.

Updates will follow.
