Carlos Del Toro visits Faroe Islands to discuss North Atlantic security collaboration

On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro is visiting the Faroe Islands. Høgni Hoydal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is hosting the visit.

“The government has long sought to welcome Carlos Del Toro, as we aim to strengthen our direct collaboration with the United States, particularly concerning security in the North Atlantic,” stated Hoydal.

During their meeting, Del Toro and Hoydal will discuss the security situation in the North Atlantic, cooperation between the two nations, and various bilateral matters.

Additionally, the Secretary of the Navy will meet with the Foreign Affairs Committee and visit key local entities including Vørn (the Faroe Islands’ coast guard), MEST (the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Culture), the Arctic Command, and Atlantic Airways.

Carlos Del Toro is scheduled to depart the Faroe Islands on Thursday.
