Tram line 13 officially begins operations in Helsinki

A new tram line, number 13, officially began operations in Helsinki on Monday, August 12, at 5:27 AM. The inaugural trip from Sompasaari in Kalasatama to Pasila was fully packed with passengers. A video capturing the atmosphere of the first ride is available in the main image of this article.

This new tram line connects some of the fastest-growing areas of Helsinki. The route travels from Nihdist in Sompasaari through the Kalasatama metro station and Hermannin rantatie, extending to Vallilanlaakso and continuing via Pasila station to Pasilanraiti.
