Meteor shower expected over Northern Hemisphere as Earth passes comet dust

A meteor shower is expected to be visible in the night sky on Monday and Tuesday, occurring around the same time each year, as Earth passes through a cloud of tiny dust particles from a comet in space.

This annual event is a result of the Earth colliding with these dust particles, which rush into the atmosphere at very high speeds and burn up, creating bright trails of light. While the shower can be seen worldwide, conditions for viewing are generally better in the Northern Hemisphere.

This year, skywatchers have more favorable conditions for observing the Perseid meteor shower. For optimal viewing, a dark, nearly cloudless sky is essential. A significant advantage this year is the absence of a full moon, which would normally illuminate the sky and hinder visibility.

The best viewing conditions are expected during the night leading to Tuesday. Observers can anticipate a spectacular experience, as this phenomenon is not an everyday occurrence.
