Thea Løvaas Tennøy, a 25-year-old from Elnesvågen, has successfully completed a remarkable 2,625-kilometer journey on roller skis from North Cape to Lindesnes. Over 23 days and 12 hours, she embraced the challenge, firmly deciding that the phrase “give up” was off-limits.

Tennøy, an avid fitness enthusiast and a handball player, attributed the original idea of this long-distance trek to her frequent roller skiing trips to the nearby village of Tornes. Although she faced a number of obstacles on her journey, including a collision with a car that required an ambulance ride, she emerged with only minor scrapes. She emphasized the importance of maintaining faith and willpower throughout the process, suggesting that tackling the journey step by step helped her succeed.

During her expedition, Tennøy encountered various challenges such as heavy traffic and inclement weather, including rainy days. She was supported by her boyfriend, Sigurd Helmersen, who provided assistance and companionship, taking on roles from chef to navigator.

Reflecting on her experience, Tennøy noted that the journey was worth every bit of struggle. “I’ve seen so much that I’ve never seen before,” she remarked, despite often keeping her gaze focused on the asphalt to prevent accidents.

Now back home in Elnesvågen, she has taken a few days to process the achievement, expressing satisfaction and happiness in completing the trek. Looking ahead, she is uncertain about her next adventure but believes that setting new goals is essential and plans to take a short break before embarking on a new challenge.
