The Summer Festival in Klaksvík is currently underway, drawing large crowds at Vágsbø all weekend.

As is often the case with major events, local police have had some responsibilities, but overall, it has been a relatively peaceful night, according to the watch commander at the police station in Tórshavn.

One individual clashed with the police when they were being escorted out of the area shortly before the festival concluded for the night. This person received a fine for breaching regulations. The individual acknowledged their wrongdoing, and the matter has been largely resolved, the police reported.

Another person was found in possession of drugs, but this incident was also dealt with by issuing a fine, as the amount was deemed small enough for personal use.

Additionally, two drivers were apprehended for operating vehicles under the influence. The first was stopped in Norðragøtu around 1 AM, and the second was pulled over at Gøtugjógv around 5 AM. In both cases, the drivers exhibited visible signs of intoxication, leading to their arrest and subsequent blood tests.

In an unusual incident, police received a report from Klaksvík last night about loud music emanating from the festival area. However, it turned out to be music from a radio at a camping site, and the police decided to disregard that complaint.

The Summer Festival will conclude tonight.
