The situation has become so serious that Danish police will enhance border controls at the Danish-Swedish border starting today, as announced by Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard. This decision follows several shooting incidents and other events involving Swedish citizens.

The police plan to increase physical checks at Oresund trains and boost surveillance through ANPG cameras, which scan license plates at the border. Hummelgaard stated, “We are increasing surveillance partly to create a sense of security, but also to prevent Swedish hired child soldiers from coming to Copenhagen to carry out tasks related to gang conflicts.”

The Minister reported that since April, there have been 25 instances of Swedish youths being recruited by Danes to commit crimes in Denmark.
