On Thursday, an unusual sight filled the highways as a convoy of 30 to 40 trucks made their way from Helsinki to Jalasjärvi, continuing through Seinäjoki and heading towards Kuortane, eventually reaching Alahärmä. The procession included trucks from Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and England, showcasing large international guests traveling to Alahärmä in Southern Ostrobothnia for the 20th annual Power Truck Show.

According to convoy leader Kaj Sulinko, this unique truck parade in Finland serves as a pleasant initial meeting for drivers, particularly appealing to international participants. “You can feel the joy when you see happy people greeting us,” Sulinko noted. The effort put into building and customizing the trucks makes the experience rewarding for the participants, he added.

Thousands lined the route to watch the convoy, and Sulinko expressed delight at witnessing the enthusiastic crowd: “It’s wonderful to see people waving by the roadside. Their happy faces provide a special energy to the event.”

Sulinko emphasized that each year, the trucks become even more impressive, evolving into works of art. “You think no one could surpass this level of craftsmanship, but every year brings something even better.”

This year marks a celebration for the Power Truck Show, featuring over 650 exhibition trucks from 15 countries, along with more than 100 model displays and participation from 160 transport companies. The event is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors, offering a weekend packed with diverse activities, including motorshow performances and music. Additionally, a seminar will focus on encouraging young people to enter the transportation industry, where young entrepreneurs will share their experiences.
