School year begins today in Finland as primary classes start in cities including Helsinki, Espoo, and Turku
The school year starts today in parts of Finland, according to the Finnish National Agency for Education. Classes are beginning in primary schools in cities such as Helsinki, Espoo, Turku, and Jyväskylä. Additionally, schools are opening today in Kokkolan, Kouvola, Kuopio, Lahti, and Finnish-language primary schools in Vantaa. Most municipalities across Finland will begin their school sessions by the end of the week. According to the Agency, approximately 54,000 students are expected to start the first grade this month.
