The case is under development.

Attorney Øyvind Bratlien confirmed that he is representing Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit. “He is charged with bodily harm, which, under the law, is the least serious form of violence,” Bratlien stated. He added that neither he nor his client has been fully informed about the details of the case, and Høiby has not yet provided a statement following Bratlien’s advice. “There’s not much I can say at this time. It’s important that the legal process proceeds correctly and that the media respects my client’s need for privacy and tranquility,” he emphasized.

Bratlien also pointed out that law enforcement should be allowed to carry out their duties without interference from the media regarding facts and guilt, stressing that it is ultimately the court’s responsibility to decide if the case progresses there.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit was scheduled to attend the Olympic Games in Paris but has delayed her trip. The royal family has confirmed this postponement but believes she may still be able to travel at a later date. Photographs from the Stade de France during the Olympics show Crown Prince Haakon present in a VIP section without Crown Princess Mette-Marit.

According to the official royal program, Crown Prince Haakon was at Stade de France for athletics events on Tuesday evening, after previously attending a show jumping final at the Palace of Versailles. It was originally planned for the couple to be in Paris for the Olympics from Tuesday to Saturday.

The Police Security Service (PST) has confirmed they were alerted to an incident over the weekend. PST senior advisor Martin Bernsen commented that Oslo police were notified. The police confirmed a response to a report of a violent incident, resulting in the arrest of one individual charged with bodily harm, who was later released.
