The investigation into a violent attack against a gay couple in Oslo has revealed that the assailants allegedly used hate speech during the incident. Police Inspector Marte Heggli stated that the victims had been subjected to violence, and the nature of some remarks made by the attackers suggests that the assault may be considered hate crime.

The attack occurred early Saturday morning at the outdoor seating area of Bølgen and Moi in the Tjuvholmen area. The two male victims, both in their twenties, remain hospitalized; their lawyer, Sigurd Ihlen, confirmed that one of the victims was stabbed. Ihlen reported their condition as stable after visiting them.

Four teenage boys have been charged with aggravated assault. Among them, two are 17 years old, while the others are aged 14 and 15. The two older suspects are in custody, while the younger two have been placed under the care of child services. Authorities noted that the suspects are already known to the police. Moreover, the two eldest teens are also suspected of robbing a 15-year-old boy during the Norway Cup, which occurred on July 30 on Oslo’s Karl Johans gate.
