During a recent festival in the Westman Islands, there were reports of minor injuries among attendees, attributed to slippery conditions following rainfall. However, the director of the South Iceland Health Care Institution emphasized that the weekend was largely free of serious accidents, crediting the well-organized event.

Diana Óskarsdóttir noted that the weather was challenging, with significant wetness causing people to slip on a slope in Herjólfsdal. Many visitors experienced sprains and some fractures, necessitating stitches for certain injuries. She expressed gratitude that despite the unfortunate weather, the festival did not witness any major incidents.

In response to the increased number of visitors and the adverse conditions, the health care facility deployed additional staff, including doctors, nurses, and ambulance personnel, to the area over the weekend.

Overall, while there were challenges due to weather-related incidents, the event concluded without major disruption, allowing attendees to enjoy the festivities.
