Following the chaos in Tórshavn yesterday during the football match between HB and Hajduk Split, an evaluation is set to take place regarding the preparations for handling such visits from football fans to the Faroe Islands.

At one entrance of the Tórsvøll stadium, security personnel faced a surge of supporters attempting to enter, leading to a breach of protocol during the screening process. In the midst of this, a police officer was struck three times in the neck.

Authorities are now conducting an investigation alongside representatives from Croatia to identify their compatriots involved in the incident, utilizing surveillance footage as part of their inquiry. The police have also urged boat owners to check whether all emergency flares are onboard, as many were reported to have been discharged at Tórsvøll last night. The police suspect that these flares may have originated from boats in the harbor.

Post-match, which ended in a 0-0 draw, there were no reports of significant disturbances, as local bars in Tórshavn had closed for the night. However, one Croatian fan did not witness the match, as he was apprehended earlier in the afternoon for throwing a bottle onto the street. Authorities are now looking into whether he has committed any other offenses.

The man remains in police custody, having been scheduled to leave the country the next morning. Over 300 individuals traveled from Croatia for the match.
